THANK YOU!!

Alex’s Dad, June 6, 2024June 6, 2024

A big thank you to Alex’s music teachers – starting with Children’s Choir director Megan Mewis-Fournier and followed by Karen Langois for piano and Band & Choir teacher Perry Acorn with many great band and choir memories. Brenda Bernath took Alex and the few who continued band through the pandemic and gently encouraged and soothed their aching souls with music like only Brenda can, rebuilding the Carlton Band from nothing to mighty performances in 2024 – with Janelle Matice filling in the gaps this year with a loving touch one has to experience to understand. Big Noise Youth Choir director Lauren Lohneis brought the Carnegie choral residency opportunity to Alex and 6 other choir-mates and organized and encouraged and travelled and rehearsed and performed with us on June 1st.

A great big THANK YOU to Sask Rivers School Division for the great support – specially principal Jen Ferguson and superintendents Jeff Court and Dr. Gerret Tebay and so, so, so many teachers at Carlton!

The Carnegie Choral Music residency was an amazing opportunity under Dr. Jen Lang – professor at the University of Saskatchewan and director of multiple choral groups – including the UofS Greystones.

Thank you to each and every one of those who were encouraging and smiling along the way – from Laurent, Trish & Bob of the Children’s Choir to Marge Bodnarchuk to Bob and Lorna Gibson and the many, many, many encouraging people in Alex’s life – too many to name for fear of missing someone!
